Explore data your way
Connected workbooks
Workbooks combine the simplicity of a point-and-click UI with the flexibility of spreadsheets. Explore modeled or un-modeled data within your sandbox environment, and when you discover something interesting, promote it to your teams shared data model for reuse and governance.
Spreadsheet-style formulas
Efficiently explore data and create new metrics inside our workbook UI with Calculations. Rather than reinventing the wheel, Omni is compatible with many of the popular spreadsheet formulas you may already know and love.

Curated data sets
Set up curated data sets for different teams within your organization. For example, build marketing curated data sets with pre-defined join paths for querying multiple tables (such as website traffic and form fills) and field descriptions to make it easy for everyone to understand and explore conversion metrics.
SQL mode
When you write SQL in Omni, you'll have SQL Super Powers, which understand and parse your query into its component logic (field definitions, joins, etc). This makes you super efficient by allowing you to build new queries via the UI and reuse the logic in the future.
Communicate findings with teammates
Flexible visualizations
Communicate your analysis with an auto viz recommended by Omni or choose from our library. You can also customize visualizations with text, imagery, iframes and more, or use our built-in Vega editor to create something entirely new.

One platform to meet all your analytics needs
Everyone wants data, but not everyone wants to log into a BI tool to get it. The Omni Platform powers internal reporting, operationalizes data into workflows, and puts dashboards and visualizations directly into your product.
Replacing our previous BI tool with Omni gave us another level of insight and ease that we really need, internally and for our companies. Now, we're able to extend that impact across our companies to help them access data without requiring in-house data experts or tools.

FAQs
What data sources can I connect to Omni?
We’re constantly adding to our database support. Currently, you can connect Omni directly to AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, MySQL, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, and MotherDuck
Does Omni integrate with dbt?
Omni has a bi-directional dbt integration that allows you to:
- seamlessly surface dbt model changes in Omni
- pull dbt context in Omni for deeper visibility
- author dbt models from Omni model definitions.
What type of visualizations does Omni support?
Omni offers out-of-the-box visualizations including line, bar, stacked, grouped, scatter, table, map, area, heatmap, KPIs, and more. You can use markdown elements to create visualizations with text, images, links, data, iframes, and more! Additionally, you can use the advanced visualization editor to leverage the entire VegaLite spec library Omni.
How do you manage workbook versioning?
Omni's workbook UI is focused on asking any question of both modeled and un-modeled data in your databases. The URL will update with each user action, allowing easy back and forward motions in your browser, and instant shareability of results (across all of the tabs in your workbook). When a workbook is saved, it will appear alongside other dashboards and workbooks in the content system. If a workbook is not saved, you can still return to that analysis via the Activity section or URL. You can interact with workbooks via View or Edit mode. Edit mode will save changes as you go, and you can restore the previous version from the Version History panel.
